It looks like Brighton & Hove City Council is offering up council land on the Freshfield Industrial Estate in Queen's Park, most likely to private developers, in a desperate attempt to make a quick buck. But we know all developers will do is build more posh flats or fancy student blocks for massive profit.
Instead of selling off land that belongs to all of us, the council must keep a hold of it and use it for council housing. More student flats, over-priced rentals and AirBnBs won’t fix Brighton’s housing crisis, only good quality social housing will. It’s not rocket science!
We need to stop this happening now. Follow the instructions below to email your local councillor, telling them in no uncertain terms we need our public land for council homes for residents, not luxury flats for rich people.
