ACORN member and Waltham Forest parent Michelle has been evicted from her home with her ten year old son and Waltham Forest Council are refusing to help.
They closed her homelessness application after she refused to move two hours away to Luton. She was due to be left homeless on the street until ACORN interevened and got the council to put her in a hotel. However, Waltham Forest council have said they plan to end their duty of care after a week.
We've asked for an urgent meeting with Council Leader Paul Perkins who is refusing to intervene.
Paul Perkins was elected on a manifesto which promised change and stop sending homeless families out of the borough but has backtracked on that commitmrent after only two weeks in office.
