1) Lambeth council replace the carpets and flooring damaged so far

2) Compensate Tola and his mum for costs and risks incurred so far. We are asking for

£3,200.This encompasses:

- The cost of cleaning the carpet (£70)

- The cost of goods damaged (£250)

- Service charge for the 10 months during which the flooding took place (£1,500)

- Compensation for stress, time and obstructions to daily life (£1,380)

I am appalled to hear about the living situation involving Lambeth resident Tola, and his mother, who have had their flat flooded 3 times with sewage from the building’s communal pipes. The flooding of sewage has resulted in damage to their home, their belongings, and has led to Tola’s mother having to sleep on the living room sofa.

Lambeth Council have acted irresponsibly, and not responded to Tola’s complaints. It is Lambeth Council’s responsibility to maintain and restore the communal buildings.

I am shocked by the negligence towards Tola’s complaints and the unsafe and unsanitary conditions Tola and his mother have been living in. As a result of this, I am asking that you immediately respond to and meet ACORN’s demands.

ACORN’s demands are:
● Evidence that arrangements have been made to replace Mr. Anozie’s carpets
and flooring due to long term damage caused by sewage.
● Compensation for costs and risks incurred so far, amounting to £3,200, to be
paid into Mr. Anozie’s account. This encompasses:
○ The cost of cleaning the carpet (£70)
○ The cost of goods damaged (£250)
○ Service charge for the 10 months during which the flooding took place
(£1,500)
○ Compensation for stress, time and obstructions to daily life (£1,380)
