Lambeth Council, Don't Let Your Tenants Live With Raw Sewage!

Lambeth Council, Don't Let Your Tenants Live With Raw Sewage!

About the Action:

We are demanding compensation for our member Tola after the home where he lives with his mum has been flooded with sewage 3 times. His mum, 65, has had to sleep in the living room, and they've both had to throw away belongings drenched with sewage. This is unacceptable. It poses serious risks to their health, and has made them feel unsafe and unhappy in their home where they have lived for decades.

Lambeth Council, Don't Let Your Tenants Live With Raw Sewage

We are demanding that:

1) Lambeth council replace the carpets and flooring damaged so far

2) Compensate Tola and his mum for costs and risks incurred so far. We are asking for

  £3,200.This encompasses:

  - The cost of cleaning the carpet (£70)

  - The cost of goods damaged (£250)

  - Service charge for the 10 months during which the flooding took place (£1,500)

  - Compensation for stress, time and obstructions to daily life (£1,380)

We've already delivered these demands to the council, but they haven't met them. So we're asking you to encourage Neil Euesden, as the Head of Housing in Lambeth to support Tola and his mum.
